Victorian Gold Fill Locket with Paste Stones
Victorian Gold Fill Locket with Paste Stones
This Victorian (1837-1901) locket with paste stones has a beautiful Art Nouveau design. The term “paste” is used to refer to gemstones made of various kinds of cut glass. Leaded glass has a high refractive index, therefore it was a common material used in antique jewelry. This locket even has an antique photograph inside! It also has a worn monogram on the back. The gold fill chain is included.
